Summary of Essential Functions This individual will coordinate the analysis, technical design, and implement and support of assigned interfaces, and work closely with application and technical teams to ensure that the interfaces meet the needs of the organization.
Provide suggestions for potential interface modifications, enhancements or business process changes as appropriate.
Educational Requirements Degree in Computer Science, Information System Management, or equivalent experience or education is required.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Experience with HL7 communications is required.
Experience and certification in Corepoint Integration Engine preferred.
FHIR experience preferred.
Licensure and Certifications Must obtain and keep current all certifications required to support assigned interfaces (i.
e.
Epic Bridges, Epic Data Courier Administrator, Corepoint, etc.
).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to work independently and within a team environment to plan and accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to analyze data, problem solve, and clearly communicate solutions.
Must demonstrate knowledge of health care operations and the application of interfaces to aid and improve health care functions.
Ability to coordinate activities involving multiple players, including vendors, operational leaders, interface engine developers, and end users, to design, configure, and test interfaces.
Physical Requirements Primarily works the day shift tour of duty; may be asked to work additional hours as needed, including weekends.
Will be required to take rotating call to support the interfaces.
May be expected to lift over twenty-five (25) pounds.
Ability to distinguish between numbers and symbols.
Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity with substantial movement of wrist and/or fingers.
Walking and climbing to accomplish tasks.
Corrected vision and hearing to normal or near normal range.
Extended periods of sitting and/or walking depending on specific duties.
Duties and Responsibilities Participates in the development and design of the interfaces, including analysis, design, specifications, implementation, go-live, and support.
Develop and maintain functional specifications and operational process flows, or other necessary documentation for approved interface enhancements or modifications.
Coordinate various interface-specific tasks and activities like testing, build, cutover planning, and go-live by engaging operations, vendors, and interface developers.
Provide technical resource to identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve interface system needs.
Able to determine the business needs for interfaces, document the requirements, and configure, maintain, and monitor the interfaces.
Provide support for potential interface modifications, enhancements, or business process changes as appropriate as well as advising business and technical counterparts regarding current interface functionality.
Builds, tests, and debugs interfaces to ensure the system meets end user requirements, involving the appropriate resources in the process and testing.
Work with interface engine developers to develop data-translation routines and methods to support Epic’s and external systems’ data and format needs.
Adheres to organizational policies and procedures and documents change control and system problems according to departmental procedures.
Collaborates with operational leaders, user groups and key stakeholders to review and prioritize system enhancements and upgrade.
Collaborates with technical resources on projects, and systems maintenance to ensure the needs of the business are met.
Communicates effectively with users, colleagues, and developers.
Supports multiple concurrent projects and/or application modules.
Completes task on time as assigned to meet SLAs and project deadlines.
Strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities.
Uses critical thinking skills to develop and support clinical and business software applications.
Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and flexibility in problem resolution.
Demonstrates commitment to excellent customer service.
Works under the direction of leadership to complete projects, achieve goals and meet departmental and organizational KPIs.
Adheres to departmental policies and processes for ticket management and SLAs.
Performs other tasks/responsibilities as necessary.
